There was never anyplace she
liked better.
Home was always her favorite
place to be.
Grade school, high school, and
college – the prospect of returning home was comforting.
Then, she graduated from
college. Her world had been redefined.
She was in charge. Home didn’t
exist. Well it did, buried under the
topsy-turvy thought processes she struggled to organize to find a job, be a
self-sufficient adult.
She forced unwavering self-confidence
to push and pull her toward continued success; getting interviews was all that
mattered. She had to start her career,
put that Degree to use. It was an
exciting time. So exciting that the excruciatingly
far distant miles from home just added to the amazing challenge of it all. Thinking about home strengthened her determination,
shaped her decision-making. Everyone at
home would be as proud of her as she was of herself.
She did it – was hired as an
Accountant, found herself a nice room in a family’s home, and met a great
guy. They married, moved into a cozy
modern apartment, started a family, and bought a house, their home. Coming home to family, once again framed her
happiness.
Ah, simpler times.
