Lent Photo - A - Day Challenge (Part III)

Here is the third and final presentation documenting my response to the 2016 Lent word/photo challenge of the United Methodist Church.

Lent Photo challenge 3/12/16 – Listen, the word of the day. Volunteers listen, learn how to package food for those in need.

Lent Photo challenge 3/13/16 – Celebrate, the word of the day.  It’s Daylight Savings Sunday.  I celebrate, grateful I’ll not be late.

Lent Photo challenge 3/14/16 – Path, the word of the day.  May they continue on the right path.

Lent Photo challenge 3/15/16 – Remember, the word of the day.  “… love one another as I have loved you.” John 15: 12.

 3/16/16 – People, the word of the day.  Ref. UMH # 558, . . . not a building, not a steeple.

Lent Photo challenge 3/17/16 – Restore, the word of the day.  Beautiful gifts of nature restore my soul.

Lent Photo challenge 3/18/16 – Beloved
the word of the day.  Beloved
yet afraid, needing faith.

\

3/19/16 – Have, the word of the day.  Blessed to have; a blessing to give.

Lent Photo challenge 3/20/16 – Celebrate, the word of the day.  Whether the day be bright or grey, celebrate the assurance.

3/21/16 – Thanks, the word of the day.
        Thanks to many for
        a great Palm Sunday,
         uniquely uplifting.

Lent Photo challenge 3/22/16 – Steadfast, the word of the day. Here they are; honored, steadfast over time in service to others.

Lent Photo challenge 3/23/16 – Rejected, the word of the day.  Accepted – love professed that will never be rejected.

Lent Photo challenge 3/24/16 – Need, the word of the day. Per Dr. King, be great by serving others.  “You only need . . .

3/25/16 – Path, the word of the day.
A favored path (Psalms 119:35) beside a mighty oak tree.

Lent Photo challenge 3/26/16 –
Enter, the word of the day.  They found

the stone rolled away and
they would enter. (Luke 24: 2-3)

Lent Photo challenge 3/27/16 – Celebrate, the word of the day.  Easter Sunday! Celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Celebrate eternal life.

For this Lent challenge the days numbered 47, not 40 which I’ve always known to be the period of Lent.  Forty days of Lent do not include Sundays; this challenge did (‘celebration’ being the word of the day for each Sunday).  In addition, this special         Lent Challenge was extended through the week after Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday.

The highly appreciated and enlightening experience was the research.  I loved searching for the ministry portraying the ‘word of the day’ in the selected photos.

Yes, the challenge was a personal and spiritual growth experience like no other Lenten ‘sacrifice’ I’ve undertaken.   I recommend it.
